Patagonia
| Estancia Alicura, Argentina Trout, which are not native to Patagonia, were introduced in the early 1900's courtesy of the United States and Germany. Since that time, trout have become well established and bring fly anglers from around the world to Patagonia in pursuit of them. Located two hours outside of Bariloche, Estancia Alicura is a world class full service hunting and fishing lodge nestled in the Lake District of Patagonia. Spanning over 200,000 acres and including numerous mountain streams, rivers, and lakes, this ranch is a fly anglers dream. With easy access to three of Patagonia's premier rivers, the Collon Cura, Caleufu, and Limey, fishing for trophy rainbow and brown trout is an every day opportunity. Being a fully functional ranch, there is always top quality cuts of beef, venison (red stag), and wild boar available to eat. The chiefs are nothing short of phenomenal and provide gourmet style meals three times a day. Estancia Alicura has two of the best full time guides I have had the pleasure of fishing with, Fernando Vicens and Paco Rodriguez. They can row with the best of them and are dialed in to their territory better than anyone down there. Getting out with these guys by your side is nothing short of a treat and they are sure to teach you a thing or two about fly fishing. |
